Pumping from the Marne
Located 1.3 kilometers from the treatment plant, in a meander of the Marne, the pumping station has two separate water intakes with a total capacity of 130,000 m3/day.
The two pipes supplying the plant are made from steel-core reinforced concrete. The pumped water undergoes an initial physical treatment to remove floating debris through coarse and fine screening. The quality of the raw water is monitored continuously as it enters and leaves the pipes. In the event of a pollution incident on the Marne, water intake is switched automatically to the lakes formed by the former sand quarries in the Jablines leisure center.
